To me I dont mind a IT instead of a ST but like you said people will still buy the ST if they see one. I think alot of that has to do with not really being available in the states now and how they always hold that nice gold color. I can see how people still want them...I like ITs cause of all the different bar patterns they usually have and the split bars are my favorite. Well guess its a preference.
ok lets look at a different way
if ST and IT were both available what would you buy the blind unstable nasty marked ST or the clean stable IT
it makes no sense to me why people buy a fish just because of the name
when people come around to your house and look in your tank do they care if it ST or IT
I FOR 1 WOULD PAY TOP $$$$ for a nice big NTT who cares if its rare or not the time and care that has gone into getting that NTT to a good sizes is worth more to me than a blind unstable ST
would you buy a expensive car with no service history smashed headlights 300k mileage and a door hanging off just because of the name or would you wait for a better one to come along

I agree with what you are saying, but I think some people are trying to ensure that they are not getting ripped off by over paying for an IT that is being sold as an ST. I think the thread that started this poll was one in which approx. half the people thought it was an IT and the other half ST. Personally, I think if you like the fish enough and you can afford and take care of it, then buy it.
not that much difference to the untrained eye between IT and ST
so why should it bother some people so much what they have
so many people say ooh i wish i could get ST why you can get IT which look so much the same if its going to save the wild population
its just a case of people wanting what they cant get much the same as Asian arowana or black rays
