until i move out my biggest tank is a 55g
and im building a pond this spring
and i still know alot about fish
more than enough info in my head to run a shop of my own
dont mean nothin just cuz i have a smaller tank

Hey Koop.. kudos to you for speaking your mind.

But everyone starts out somewhere. Think of it this way. A kid who keeps a 10 gallon tank picks up a TFH magazine and see's the MFK banner. He decides to check out the site...

Booya, he is now exposed to the madness and realizes the various other species of fish that is out there that can't be had @ a LFS? The addiction has started...LOL

What I don't like are people not use to keeping "MONSTERFISH" and try to be judgmental on how we enjoy our hobby of keeping MonsterFish. That is why there is a sister sight for the non-monster type hobbyist.

Good for you for speaking your mind.

I came on here when I was 13, all I had was a betta and 2 albino rainbow sharks
if I weren't on here I don't think I'd have all that I have now, we're all here to learn and everyone's gotta start somewhere

and there is the correct answer.

i only have a 106gal tank now so not monster at all. my biggest fish is 9'' and i am selling that.
at one point recently i had 0 gals.
i started out with a 40gal tank and most people started out with small tanks it is the fish keeping way.
we can not ask them to come here until they get a bigger tank if that was the case from the cound of it you (the OP) would be posting elsewhere at this moment in time.

This is a fish community and we all try to help one another out. "Monster" doesn't reflect on size alone. It can be about the fish's personality as well. And like others have state, we're also here to help and inform those who have interest in large fish.

My definition of "Monsterfishkeepers" ... is we are a "monstersize site"...enjoyed by all of you that keep fish.. any fish... any size ..any age any amount.... At Monsterfishkeeper "we are HUGE!":D

Being a Monster Fish Keeper isn't about the tank size, or the size of your fish, its how large your heart is and how much passion you have for this hobby. I believe we can all safely say that all of us LOVE this hobby with a passion that is MONSTER.

I replied to your first post, so now you should not feel so bad =)

*hug*

Monster Fish Keepers has nothing to do with the size of the fish or the tank, but rather the incredible passion for the hobby through a fish, a tank, a pond, a zoo or the person themselves. We do not judge a member by what fish he keeps, but by what defines that member, and what that member does to reach the next level. We Monsterize our hobby through our passion.

Would you guys like me to leave because I enjoy plecos that are only 6" long, or shrimp that max at 1"?
