yes agreed but we also have alot of people here saying for over a decade they are getting 150 200 300 400 500 etc and never do and stir up a big thread for no reason when they get the tank and show pics of it then we should start a thread saying what to do with it for real

i do agree with u at a point when people show of pics and brag, and also try to tell u what to do when they only have like a 12 20 30 or 40 gallon
kinda gets to me
but i have nothing against it
they can still know just as much
just kinda makes me feel like garbage

Being a Monster Fish Keeper isn't about the tank size, or the size of your fish, its how large your heart is and how much passion you have for this hobby. I believe we can all safely say that all of us LOVE this hobby with a passion that is MONSTER.

Here here....well said, PP

My definition of "Monsterfishkeepers" ... is we are a "monstersize site"...enjoyed by all of you that keep fish.. any fish... any size ..any age any amount.... At Monsterfishkeeper "we are HUGE!":D
+1 on that Red Devil :)!! i enjoy this site alot!!! lots of information!! :) heh

if anything, this thread has really demonstrated how much MFK has helped us all to learn. i think the OP had an immature reaction that will hopefully help him grow.

there is such a steep learning curve to this hobby that i would never be where i am today (not very far compared to many members) without this site. being able to watch other people's collections grow has inspired me to push my own limits. don't hate on the bettas, most of us have had one at some point.

Yes agreed There is a MASS learning curve. I threw the betta thing out for am example. Not to diss them. (It was not the best worded post I have ever had)

As long as you're not dissing the 5 gallon betta tanks, it's all good.:)

You are so wrong...This place is for people to learn and eventually become monsterfishkeepers too.. When I started going on mfk I was 12 and I only had 1 45gallon. Does that mean I didn't like fishkeeping just as much as you ?

When I first started it was with a 2.5gal with cardinal tetras if not for this site I would not have my 9" and 10" O's. They would have benn dead in a 40gal if I didn't learn to upgrade them. I was told by the LFS that the rule of thumb was 1" of fish per gal of tank. Well 40 gal tank would hold 40" oscar or 2 20" right? Thank you MFK and all the members who don't feel at this member does. If you have done for others what you have for me then you have saved a lot of fish.

Everybody has to start somewhere. If all they have now is a 5 gallon hex they may get a bigger tank sometime. You wouldn't jump from a 5 gallon tank to a 150 gallon until you knew a little more about the hobby right?
