Who got you started?

when i was 10 i caught a baby crappie while fishing with dad. i wanted to keep it so i got a 5.5 gal.

My wife (then girlfriend) had a 30 Gal Hex with a couple of Gourami's.....I kept messing with it, so she got me a 100 Gal for my birthday...and I've been suffering from MTS ever since

ummm my grndfather bought a 75 gal tank and i was hooked

My dad had 7 aquariums from 1 1/2 gallons up to 110 gallons, so I got hooked at a young age. He also had this aquarium book which had pictures of hundreds of different fish, many of which could not be found at the time. I spent many hours going through that book and dreaming up different combinations of fish that I would keep together. When I was 15, they bought me a 60 which I was constantly changing whenever something new came into the fish store that I worked for that I had to have that couldn't be kept with the fish I had.

allways liked fish, but next door neighboor gave us a fishtank. the family set it up, i didnt bother much with it.

however they started mucking about with water changes and stuff, and it was going without being cleaned for 2-3 weeks, decided i had to do something, read loads, sorted out the little tank. decided i wanted bigger. and now i have

100g (5foot) allmost set up. gonna be an mbuna tank
50g (corner tank) sa tank, currently housing rams and geophagus
45g (4foot) wating for a stand, then the gros are going in there
40g (4foot) mbuna
32g (3foot) mbuna
10g (4 of them) mbuna fry
7g (20"10"10") growing out a firemouth
6.5g (12"cube) just plants, hopefully shrimp soon
and theres a couple of rubbermaids i use for quarantine purposes.

all in under 3 years

My older bro got me started when I was like 5 or 6. He had a SW setup with a lionfish and a trigger that he used to feed goldfish. I loved going to the lfs with him and getting the feeders, which he would let me throw in the tank. I have been hooked ever since then but only FW. He bought me my first tank a 20 when I was like 8 and I started with some blue mbunas. Now I have a 125 CA/SA with a Tiger O and a Jag. Still looking forward to the day I can setup a 300+

had a small tank in the home back when i was really young but i guess what made me get more interested in fishkeeping was my friend's aro

My parents had a small fish tank when I was a kid. I used to sit and watch the fish for hours and I had so much fun picking fish out to put in the tank that it just stuck. I could never have the monster fish I always wanted (arowana, clown knife, etc) until I got my own house because I never had room before that. Now I'm the crazy fish lady!
