Who Has Sampled Their Aquatic Pets In The Kitchen?

you got more marbles than me. Kind of like raising a turkey for thanks giving or maybee a sheep for christmas. I can barely feed a mouse to my snakes if I look at it long enough (and I've been doing it for over ten years).
 
Tilapia is the best fish around IMO. ive ate numerous channel cats from mine and friends tanks. Tried oscar and midas. both not bad at all. Giant gourami oon the other hand tastes like poop. why leave them to die a death in someone elses tank when you can put them out of their misery and make a meal of it at the same time. all of my friends condemned me for it at first, but now who do they call when their fish get too large. Of all the millions of fish that are abused and killed every month, why cant a few make it to the dinner table before they end up in a trash can. Im all for the fish as food debate. And everyone who hasnt tried tilapia is missing out. seriously its probably the cheapest fish you can buy and it tastes great. even if your not a fish eater. cooked right it has a very nice taste and would change some minds im sure.
 
I have had oscars,uros,midas and peacock bass from the canals in florida all are pretty tasty. Tilapia are very tasty one of best tasting freshwater fish behind channel catfish and bluegill(which is the best tasting fish in the world). Has anybody had Koi before?(real domestic koi not carp) I also heard of people eating bowfin..And clown knifes. I have also had wild sting rays( saltwater species). People catch them and skin them and then they cut them into scallop sized pieces..Pretty common in my area.
 
Peta members are okay if you cook them slow with lots of garlic, Alf members are inedible but make fair fertilizer,,,,,, sorry did not rea post script.
 
how was the sh and where can i get one if i live in so cal (san diego). I have been able to find all the fish ive wanted to keep pretty much within reason, but i still have no luck with the SH's. if anyone knows where i can get one let me know, and ill grow it nice sized and if i have a problem getting rid of him ill try him out too. haha. fish is good what can i say. i see channel cats swimming in my buddies pond that are cool looking and big, but after all the cats ive ate they are startin to look more tasty than pets should be.
 
well, i tired to offer my devils for sale, but after no takers tonight they become dinner. im gonna take pics of the whole ordeal from capture and cleaning to the finished product. ill keep ya all posted. im gonna grub the 2 large ones in my photo gallery
