Liz,
here's what I could find without digging through boxes in the garage. The first one is at my sons 2nd birthday party in Nov. '96. The second is right around the same time, and no my manx isn't in the tank...just standing on the little ledge on the back of the stand. Thought it made a cool pic. The fourth pic is from a few years later befrore he went in the big tank, a screen capture from my video camera I bought in 2001 when my daughter was born so I think it's right around that time. I might also have some old VHS video of the tank...Is there a way to post video if I can find and transfer it to my computer? Also found a pic of my blue I had in NY and of my pirahana. I'll post the pirahana in my gallery.

so sweet the old pics and the baby arow.. your son is so adorable.. he probably still is..:D i think this is fine.. thanks!! yes you can do video but since i have never done one.. onto MFK maybe someone could lead you better..

Aros can live for up to 30 years. The current record for oldest arowana, which is a 26" blue based asian arowana, is 38 years old. Most arowanas dont live longer than 3 years due to improper care, many arowanas imported today are still fry with a yolk sac, it is very hard to keep one with a yolk sac alive until it absorbs it.

Thanks for posting good information..

My dads silver aro (which is mine now) is 14 years old, it is older than me! I also have a 5 year old silver, and a 3 year old black.

I'd like to see some pics of that oldie as well. He must be HUGE!! How big is he and what size tank do you keep him in? Is he in the same tank as the other 2? Can't wait for pics...

I will try to get pics in the morning. Shee is about 34 inches now and is housed in a 650g, im not sure of the dimansions but its a square tank about 20"x72". No she is a vicious fish and would attack and kill any fish that gets in her way, easy. She has even killed a 18" dovii :( She is in with 7 pbass, 2 monos, 1 temensis, 1 azul, and 3 orino. @ datnoids, an indo and a widebar, and a lot of bichirs. Oh, and also a wallago atuu, i will get pics.
