my 30s have been running continuously since 92

my 90 since 93 and my 65 since 94.

never resealed. holdnig strong.,

BUT never drained down and never moved either.

if your tanks are in one spot and never drained down so the stresses on the silicone change all of a sudden, you should be good for an incredibly long amount of time..

Well mine has been the opposite, I have moved it numerous times. EEK.

And I guess I just jinxed myself, the silly thing started leaking this weekend. Only from the top seal but it just concerned me, I lowered the water level and it was still dripping somehow. It is upstairs in my room and that would be a large mess, plus I noticed another air pocket in a seal that wasn't there before. I am superstitious and I keep thinking this thread jinxed me. So I just went a dropped $30 on another 20g long and put the 5 mollies and few guppies in there along with the filter, heater, plants, ecocomplete and everything from the Hex. Everyone is fine. Oh well it had a good run, I knew making this thread would backfire on me, haha. Oh well maybe I'll make it a Reptile tank since it's so tall.

Replacing glass tanks every 5 years? I am sitting next to a 75 that is atleast 15 years old and a 20 gallon thats about that old and their still doing fine. Also you can send all those 5 year old tanks my way Ill take those death traps off your hands for you.

well it really depends on the tanks size obvoiusly smaller tanks are sturdier,and if you have an asian red arow and a bunnch of expensive specimens,why take the risk..or maybe try getting the acrylic ones.

I have had a tank leak and a tank bust and they are very shocking experiences ...seeing you fish flappin out and some are already dead it is very traumatic and frustrating

What is a Metaframe?

It's an old stainless steel frame aquarium. That's actually the brand that 5.5 gallon I have is. I really need to get that thing up and running. It's a really cool little retro tank

ive got a 30 gall my mom says her dad used back in 74 ran till 98 with no problems . tanks in storage now because its a cube tank and ive got nowhere to put it sadly
