Who here ever driven to canada from the U.S.?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I cross the border a lot and can honestly say as a rule that getting in to the US is more of a hurdle than gettng in to Canada. Us customs is a lot more vigilant than the Canadian counterparts. You do not need a passport to enter Canada if your a US citizen. Going back the other way I can't comment as I AM CANADIAN! (my cannuck buddies will get the joke).
I travel with a passport anyway since it reduces hassles in both directions. Passports are tracking tools as well as identification and allow border security to trace your movement back and forth across the border with a couple of key strokes. That kind of traceability generally puts them at ease since they feel that you have less to hide if your using one.

Depending on the mood of the officer and how guilty you look they can pretty much take the car apart. And if you have contraband they can even confiscate the car and hit you with a huge fine -Anne

didnt drive because we were working and were told if ya cross ya get taxed for whatever is in the vehicle.

we walked across Niagara Falls. It was crazy as the Canadians only asked how much money you had and how long ya stayin. Yet, damn American numbnuts asked for ID, did we buy anything, WHY we were coming back.

glad we didnt drive over LOL
