There's nothing better than watching your fish when relaxing in your bed. I wish I could have all my tanks in my bedroom
+1 completely agree with al about this (way better than a tv lol) I have a 240 in my room with very messy eaters( big cats pbass gar and arrow) I honestly don't smell anything and I feed fairly heavily with one 60-75% wc a week my one complaint would be my sump and fx5 can get fairly noisy

If your water is properly cared for, there should be no "bad smell". If your water stinks, there is a problem with it. So smell is the last thing I would worry about.

Actually, I stopped having a tank in my room because of the noise.

There would always be some sort of annoying noise that the tank would make, bet it water trickling, fish banging on stuff, the filter starting to whirrrrr and make rattling noises...
It was too annoying when I would try to sleep.

The only reason my tank smells is because of the protein skimmer cup that is constantly pulling out smelly junk.

oh ok, well yeah, for salt water protein skimmers that's understandable, my bad I was thinking it was freshwater

Lol I actually like the water trickle sound. It's hard for me to sleep if I don't hear the water trickle. Either that or the bubbles from a sponge filter. Two nights ago I was up at 2 am moving a 15 in my bed room cause it was too quiet in my room and I couldn't sleep.

I had 3 tanks in my bedroom before moving into my apartment. Now I have them in the living room.

I have a 15 fry tank, and a nano reef on my girlfriends nightstand. She loves watching the shrimp and clownfish swim around while falling asleep. It's relaxing. I also use hob filters in my bedroom because the water falling is calming.
