Wow. Lots of addicts like me. But see here is the thing about the smell you smell it everyday so you are use to it, kind of like a smoker smelling like smoke but they don't notice how bad it smell. Well my addiction had lead me to 5 tanks (180,100,75,75,20) (over 100+fish) in my current bedroom. Room gets really humid, that I keep a humidifier and ceiling fan and a big fan running at all time. I love the sound of my sump, I love watching the tank and falling asleep. But my girlfriend just don't think it's safe to inhale all the smell. In my comeback to her is has anybody ever died from fish tank smell or got cancer from it? She shuts up. And started throwing smell like crap in your room and its to humid. You didn't enjoy just watching your fish when you were laying in bed?

Not really. Bed = sleep for me (well sleep and ...), one of the first things we learned when I joined the railway and started doing shiftwork was that in order to condition yourself to sleep at odd hours it's important to go to bed specifically to sleep, and when you're not sleeping get up to try condition your brain/body to associate bed with sleep.

I agree that it's important to have somewhere comfortable to watch your fish, that's why I made the stands for my last two big tanks so low, chilling on the couch in front of an 8' wide-screen is great!

I have 4 tanks in my bedroom a total of almost 400 gallons. No smell at all.

no smell = no prob. but if you do have a smell throw some carbon in (for two days,or on till the smell is gone then remove carbon) do 50% water changes every other day for a week, all good.

I don't keep tanks in my room. My wife doesn't like the sound, but yet she like to keep our squeaky arse ceiling fan running 24/7. Women just want to control a man in my opinion.

I gotta agree with just using your bedroom as a place to sleep. When we had a TV in our room we slept a lot less.

Crack a window. Helps alot. Ive had many tank2 in my bedroom and sometimes the humidity gets thick lol, especially in the summer. My fishroom now gets pretty humid as well and sometimes gets a not so fresh smell but I think its more related to the humidity. Opening a window makes a big difference or not leaving the room door closed all day.

My biggest issue with the tanks in the room was the humming of filters and bubblers running. Didnt bother me at first but on those few nights that I couldnt easily pass out it became very annoying (and I run eheims which are prettttty quiet)

Got my 7x18x24 in my room, a 20 planted and a 10 gal semi planted, so nice watching fish in bed!

So me and my gf got into an argument because she said if we ever get marry we can't have a tank in the bedroom. So I said "so, who said I was gonna marry u." She said it made my room stink. Blah blah blah. So I'm prove to her alot of people out there do it, and that it doesn't stink. Need your input. Thanks

Got 2 tanks in my room.... if I ever overfed with pellets or got slack with w/c, the tank with all the plecs would leave an aroma but overall no problems with smells.

I have 5 aquariums in my room and they don't stink and you easily get used to the small noise. Just one thing, never have a sump in your room :)
