I love to! 2lb up to 6lb. Biggest on 2lb is a 43lb Grass Carp, you can see it here http://floridasportfishing.com/magazine/conservation-corner/hot-news-from-the-igfa-june-2008/4.html

Ive caught channels up to 12lbs or so on 2lb test, usually takes about 2 hours. I hooked into one that I fought for over 6 hours, then he was right in front of me but still deep, all of a sudden the line snapped. I was so mad. :irked: but I love to do it.

Yea i remember seeing them on your igfa thread, thats awesome. That story makes me upset just thinking about it. i once fought a nice 5 lb bass all the way to shore and thought I'd throw him up on shore and go all or nothing, it ended up amounting to nothing, it ruined my day lol.

i like to use an ultrlite rod an real wen i gosaltwater fishing keep in mind im not deepsea fishing but fishing from a small point an love catcing spot an small fish like that . its like im hooked into a monster every time

Yea I hear that, i like to just walk my canal spot casting baby bass with a little half inch soft plastic minnow, they hit it every time. Thats what got me into UL fishing, now its all i do even with bigger fish. Sometimes I'll use my pflueger supreme with 8lb test but I hate the loss of casting distance, of course I usually use heavier lures when I use it so its not as bad but its hard to run a weightless worm on 8lb test.

My ultralite ugly stik and shimano real are always with me. It's always the 1st rod I grab. use it on Crappie, bluegill, channel cats, rainbow trout and LMB. Always have a good time. 4lb test on it usually, until I go for the rainbows, then it goes down to 2lb test.

I dont see how any ugly stick can be considered a ultra light they are the toughest least sensative rods you can buy. They do make good trolling rods.

Ultralite? umm does 2lb test on a small spool or bottle cap, no pole, goggles, and swim shorts count? When the water warms i jump in and catch 3-8 inch largemouth, spots, perch, bluegill, and warmouth. its unbelievable how many fish are actually down there, and they are scared of you at all. they come right up to my face

i don't like ugly sticks (the lites are decent), theyre cheap, eyelights break off like nothing, most aren't stiff enough and that foam grip is so cheap. Also, ultralite depends on various aspects, there are ultralite ugly stick rods, I've seen them from 4' 6 and up with ultralite and lite action.

That sounds like fun, I never thought of that.

I caught a 181 pound batray on 30 pound line, if that isnt ultralight idk what is

It may be alittle more fun but Ill rather land all my fish!!!

Ive lost some monster LMB messing with mono, so for me Suffix braid 20lb all day!!

normally I dont consider thirty pound test UL, but in this case I'll accept it. Pretty sweet man.
