Who thinks bubbles/bubble walls/air stones/bubblers are a necessity in a fish tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
One person pro bubbles lol.
There's millions of closet-bubblers out here.
;-)
LOL.
Nuthin says "surface agitation" like a thick wad of steady bubbles breaking up the top. haha.

I personally like the look of bubbles in my tank. I know my ac110 provides plenty of agitation. Also it creates a nice shimmer in the tank with the led lights. I did switch from bubble wands to a sponge filter though just for the extra security.

It down't really do anything. They kinda put a nice effect on the tank but thats about it:)
hello, a 5 years old comment!
air stones and those bubbles bring more Oxygen into the water! if you have a lot of fish and/or your fish eat a lot and active, they will need a lot of Oxygen but sometime the oxygen in tank isn't enough for them. Those air-stones with air-pumps will help solve that problem.

As was said I couldn't sleep knowing i didn't have one. LOL On a seroius side I run an ac 110 and it does agitate the water but there was a film on the surface so I put the airstone back. The fish seem to move more with the airstone maybe just me but try one for yourself.

I have plenty of aeration on my tank already, but I like the look of a 2 foot long bubble wall going up the back of the tank, and some fish species are always playing in the bubbles. Honestly the blue an green colors do annoy me, but other then that there's no downside besides extra oxygen, so why not? Plus I've had them on all my tanks since I was a kid (8 years old) so I just continued with it.

Get it! lol ... Another benefit of air bubbles is that it takes a bit of bit nitrate out of the water...however its not the nitrate we measure...i forgot the scientitic coding for it.

But yes air walls help removing it.

I think with the right surface agitation you don't need them.
That's the way I see it.They had their time back before the introduction of the hang on the tank power filter and now they seem mostly to be used for visual enhancement.

I like them. My Cory Cats really like to play in them.
