Who thinks largemouth are over rated

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My 3 sons caught 20 of these little guys yesterday, none bigger than 1 pound on night crawlers. After the kids got tired of fishing I caught 5 up to 3 pounds on a top water rapala.Last year with shiners we caught many in the 7 to 10 pound range. The large mouths are fun to catch but I rather catch a Snook anytime. This pond is 600 yards from my house and I go fishing in the Indian river 10 times as much as I do in the pond.

I dont even no why this post is still going its redic.

No it's not, I work at Bass Pro and I watch all these people come in and spend thousands of dollars to catch oversized panfish. Michigan offers fishing for real sportfish like steelhead and salmon in every concievable river. Largemouth just do not fight and do not deserve the reputation they have as valiant fighters. Like I said before if you want to catch real fish that are worthy of the time used to pursue them read my article on steelheading and go out and give it a try I promise you will not be disapointed.

I think that threads about things that are overrated are overrated. LOL

In case You have not figured out, LMB's are in about every state in the country. Anybody can walk or drive a short distance and catch Bass. And comparing Bass to steelhead, I would rather go catch a 100lb Yellow or Bluefin Tuna  There's no comparison, It's like apple and oranges. Truth is, I like to fish for any fish. To Me its all about the bite. Tricking that fish to hit your lure and out fish your buddies! Bragging rights.

I don't fish for bass, I fish for anything that will bite. Bowfin are my favorite surprise. Now that's a fight!

man i totally agree that lmb are over rated. u can catch large ones here in pa hand over fist. i cant stand putting it on espn and seeing those bass tournaments . i can catch bass just as big or bigger and just as fast right here in pa why dont they do walleye tournaments or musky tourneys something that takes some skill for cripes sakes they may as well be doing bluegill tournaments. steelhead walleye salmon trout bowfin lake trout pike musky all of these fish are much funner then bass imo.
