where EVERY things LEGAL :)
Throwing this thread up to get MFK's input on who is to blame. 1st off lets throw some background so everyone has adequate info. to make a choice. I was suppose to receive a shipment of x6 festae ranging from 5"-10". Shipment was suppose to go out weeks prior but given weather and supply issue was delayed. No problem as I wanted all precautions taken w/ these un-replacable fish (4+ heat packs, bag buddies, o2, etc). Time after time of the shipment being pushed further and further we finally were set to ship out on Monday as I had another/different shipment coming from NY the same day. Come to find out that morning that the festae order did not get shipped. 2nd shipment arrived NO issues what so ever still w/ warm water and everything. So we set the festae up to ship Wed for Thurs. delivery advise from the shipper given the weather. So here is where it gets interesting. Turns out that FedEx had a bad storm @ the transfer facility so planes were being delayed and the shipment did not get out until the following evening 24hrs later. I called them non-stop the day I was suppose to receive the package to see what they could do and how they handle these situations but really got no where. I asked them how they handled packages that needed to be kept @ room temp. and they did inform me that the Memphis hub had a temp. controlled room as long as the box was marked live fish/animal etc. I immediately called the Ira to find out @ which point he advised me yes it was a box from Don and was marked live tropical fish but as you can see from the pic all that was covered by a plastic bag. I ended up having to pick up the package the following morning @ around 8:15 w/ a phone call from FedEx telling me that the package was leaking (worst phone call ever). So immediately I rushed and got there in 15 mins. but when I saw the package I knew it wasn't gonna be good.

When I received the package it looked like a 5 yr. had been left to wrap it. The box was soaked and FedEx actually had to put a bag over it to try and catch some of the water. I opened the package to find not 1 fish w/ adequate water to keep them alive if they had any water @ all. Only had 2 heat packs and no filler packaging to hold everything in place. NONE of the bags had air. The shipper took the easy road out and blamed the carrier given the delay but that still leaves no excuse why NONE of the bags had air in them. This was a big disappointment and now that the after math has subsided lets get everyones take !!!

MFK please chime in w/ your .02 and let me know you opinions. ;)

Jesus...I have no idea...with prior experience with the shipper you'd have to point at fedex...but it's a perfect storm, the weather is fighting you, and Fed ex clearly damaged the box. Good luck man...I'd personally blame the shipper for a bad pack job, but again, if you have prior experience with the shipper I have no input...those bags are just "tied" at the top? that's not an acceptable shipping method...they need bagged, w/ oxygen or in breather bags. And they can't be packed loose, they need to be tight in the box...looks like there is a lot of "space" inside that styrofoam container. Good luck dude...these are brutal pics...

Not shipped very well from the looks of it, air should have remained in bags not much doubt someone did a poor job of bagging properly and more heat packs then just two would have been in order. Just my .02

thats disgustng mate sorry. did any of the fish make it alive ? bcuz they all look deid from the pics. if the bags had not enuff air in from the begining then id blame the sender

Obviously none of the fish were bagged correctly nor packed right. Other wise they would all still have water and O2. Even if the carrier had damaged the box all bags would not have emptied unless they drove over it.

I'd be PO'd, Sorry.

If the bags didn't have water, or leaked the water out, wouldn't it be safe to assume that the air followed the same route? ;)

Sorry for your loss, and all the headache. Be careful bringing this on the open forum though because opinions can be made, and reputations wrongfully tarnished. I'd contact the seller and get this issue resolved first before progressing any further.

Wow! That's the worst pack job that I have ever seen! I pack and send fish all over the world and sometimes my fish are in bags for 60 hours! Here is the thing u always pack for the worst case scenario!

 X10 I know fish can go 48 hrs+ w/ proper packaging

there was a whole lot of space in the box, looked like the bags flew all over in there. I agree with the tie job on the bags, each bag used should have been tied individually.

Also want to throw in that each fish came in its own bag (6 bags in total) and NOT 1 FREAKEN HAD AIR :irked:

looks like he took the vacuum seal to them

been there done that Peanut, thats why were are here now ;)

as far as your comment " If the bags didn't have water, or leaked the water out, wouldn't it be safe to assume that the air followed the same route? ;)" I must say you are genius :screwy: We understand this, that is the part that makes this point so strongly to the shipper as NOT 1 bag held water or air. I could sympathize with maybe 1, 2 at the most but not all 6 :banhim:
