In all honesty, I had something similar happen. Fish were bagged and shipped. I know the fish were bagged and packaged appropriately because i saw it for myself and would never doubt the shipper as I know him personally. One of the bags must have either had a hole poked by a fish or just plain leaked. From there, the water demolished the box, and as the shipping company moved the box, the rest of the fish bounced around. In the end, all the bags ended up looking exactly like yours, no water and no air.

Moral of the story, it is not always the sellers fault. Sometimes, Murphy's Law just kicks in.

One of the bags ;) not 6 :irked:

as far as the box idc if they drew pictures on it as the styro container is more important. There are post in this thread from ppl have shipped more than all of us combined and their opinions should speak volumes. I just wanted to get others opinions knowing this is a no brainer for who is at fault.

in my opinion i think the pics were made to look as bad as possible as to blame the person packing the shipment

Strongs words there. You're saying that:

1) The vendor must not have packed these fish himself because it doesn't look like fish you've received. Who did then, one of his assistants? And;

2) The OP intentionally damaged the bags/packages in order to try and blame the shipper.

That's a whole lot of defending going on. Pictures speak for themselves. Like I said, had those fish been packed right, they probably would have had a chance to make it. There really is no excuse for that packaging job.

he said all the bags looked like thatnot just one,you also did not tell the whole story,u only told it in a way to put blame where u want it.

Isnt this the reason people double bag, to prevent popping. I dont know how to "properly" tie off a bag, but if the people at petco can get it right (most of the time) then there should be no excuse. If you plan on being a vendor you need to make sure fish make it 90% of the time, or else you are not going to have clientele. Terrible, im sorry for your loss, and I hope you get a refund somehow

this vendor has gotten it right over 90% of the time, this thread is the first ever thread i have seen about this vendor or his packing skills. my be i am being over opinionated but i know the whole story is not being told on this thread.it is not my place to tell it but before jumping to conclusion make sure you know the whole story. hopefully this gets worked out for the best of everyone.

All of my shipments from that shipper have made it fine in all weather(even with delays)I blame the carrier, looking at the pics it looks like they were packed wrong but i know the person that packed the box and that does not look like any shipping job i have ever seen him pack,in my opinion i think the pics were made to look as bad as possible as to blame the person packing the shipment, just because fedex will not take the blame for poor packaging handling. You cant jump to conclusions by the pictures until you know the whole story. just my opinion.

so you receive shipments from Ira (The Wish List) yet have the time to go and see him pack shipments  hmmmmmmmm...... POP, goes the weasel !!! So given that you have 1st hand watching Ira package who helps him or who packs for him ?? Thats right NO ONE !! Any time Ira feel free to chime in and tell us who packed these fish or put in your side of the story so buddha can have a better understanding

yes this was done as a favor but no that is not an excuse for the way it was packaged. The original seller was actually willing to ship but Ira said he would help out and do it when I asked so the seller and I both gave him the credit and trust of some rare fish given the vendor status and his experience in shipping.

read you comment again, says it all !! "looking at the pics it looks like they were packed wrong" winner winner fish dinner

NO staging here son pulled the bags out point and shoot, nothing to it. I didn't drink the water and I didn't suck the air out of the bags to make your buddy look bad :screwy:

pics speak volumes, just accept the truth. I am not on here saying do this do that but I am gonna make it known and everyone aware so they don't suffer the same fait.

and since you wanna blow this up YES EVERYONE THIS IS FROM IRA (THE WISH LIST) NY Vendor who shipped this.

i understand you're a lil upset but the guy did read correctly, one bag got poked...ruined the box...through the damaged boxed being moved, all bags got damaged. looks like he can read and write to me

Sorry for your luck though. Crappy situation all around, no one comes out looking like a winner. Not sure tarnishing someones rep over one bad situation is the right route though. Handle it like men

I recently received a shipment of 5 individual bags in a box. Some of the bags leaked, but all the fish still arrived fine. Fish will always poke holes in the bags with their fins, but a good packaging job will go a long way. Just think, fish are shipped all over the world when exported from their home country, and they survive the trip. There is no reason they shouldn't survive a short trip from one side of the US to the other.
