Why Aro's???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ive never understood peoples fasination with them. But then I've never seen one other than photos.

It was the POTY picture a couple years back. They're also one of the "big" FW fish, along with RTC and pbass.

i didnt care for them much myself for a long time.. they just swim at the top. but after looking at some nice jardini and black i kind of want one now..
And really im not sure why i even lke them now. just kind of grow on you i guess

Not sure what the "RTC" is or what they look like, but the peacock bass is something I might look into. I do see them as being nicely colored. Some of the ones on here are amazing. I just bought a 180g acrylic that I'm going to take my time and buff out (minor surface blemishes).... not sure if thats big enough to have peacock bass or not, but in any case I've got a while before I even think about setting that tank up. a long while... :( maybe one day I'll spend some time around the Aro's and understand the attraction. I am working in Singapore right now, and I've been thinking of trying to go to one of the "dragon fish farms" they have here. But, I don't know who would be worthy of going to see or who would let me in... There's time for that too though, I'm gonna be here for probably another 9-12 months or so (every other 28days I will). :)

ok, while we're at it: Ginger, or Mary Ann?

my point being, there is no accounting for people's tastes. you don't have to understand why someone likes something, but you can respect their choice.

personally, I think aros are clearly pretty awesome fish, and if I ever had a large enough setup, I would love to have one.

I especially agree with the posts that noted, they fill that void in the upper part of the tank that most monster fish seem to avoid
