Why I hate chain store.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You make good points that I almost 100% agree with. Maybe it's just a difference of opinion on pretty high level that I accept that you have to take the bad with the good in this hobby. That doesn't mean you have to like what goes on. -I- don't like the mass cullings of any living creature unless it's going to be used to the fullest. -I- don't think comets are any less of a living fish than some cichlid or oscar, but fish eat fish! We can try to educate people and bring up the standards at least within our social groups.

Thats why I like MFK. :) I learn more all the time on here and I think it and sites like it bring a lot of great info to people, but they have to want that. Sadly most people won't or don't care.

Agreed. I see where you are coming from and am really grateful for having a place like MFK that we can exchange our thoughts and opinions. I know my wife appreciates not having to listen to some of my rants. Thanks for being open-minded. There has been a lack of that lately.

Likewise. :) I just noticed you are in Georgia.. which unless you are an import that means we are practically brothers! lol.. I moved here for a girl 15 years ago and married her with two kids now. I was born and raised in Stone Mountain and that's probably why we mostly see things the same way. I just hate whiners.. lol. My philosophy is do something, or dont.. have some conviction in your beliefs or just don't complain about it. hehehehe

Wow small world. My family pass to Stone Mountain actually just ran out. I'm here in Fort Gordon with my wife and 3 kids. In about a month or so I'll be moving to the wonderful state of Illinois. After 12 years its time for a career change. I feel the same about whining that's part of the reason for the career change.

If I wasn't so sure that chain stores would refuse the idea, I'd suggest placing a realistic picture of the fish next to the tank. For instance, a 16" picture of an adult oscar next to the 1" oscar with like some cute bubble letters that say,"I'm this big full grown!"

I figure its the same as the sign my lfs puts up on the cichlid tanks that say,"I can't live in a fish bowl."

I wonder if they would post an 8 ft picture of a koi by the koi tank/pond....
