im in the same hole...

then i realized WTF am i going to do when i get my own place? move it? F*&% NO!!!

i'm waiting...

i agree that it may be a pain in the a** to move you fully setup tank like a 300 gallon tank but by doing this your also taking the pain just for your fish tank and its occupants...and I know many of you guys will go against my thought but its just in my side of opinion...

You do realize that 300G is a couple bajillion times bigger than your tank right now, right? Do you have any experience with any tanks bigger than 40Gs? Are you a physically big kid? No offense, but I don't think that 14 is mature enough to handle a tank that big. Also, you must be very patient- WCs can take up to a couple of hours on a tank that big. I'd say a definate no- Although it sounds cool, you gotta be a pretty dedicated hobbyist to get a tank that huge.

i was going to say something like that earlier on my first post in this thread...lol :WHOA: beat me to it just forgot to relavate to that...:grinno: but you are correct its not for any ordinary hobbyist to try out...even for this big jump from a 20 gallon or whatever to go to a full 300 gallon tank...plus its more work on this kind of setup this large...but he must realize that if bought and setup he Must take every step as a more smarter field to walk on...but he must stick with what the pros and cons are for an average 14 year old to compromise with his parents supervision

or tall enough...

I'm not trying to pick on anybody, I'm just pointing out the massive size difference between the tanks that you have now, and the tank that you want to get. You can have a nice, small community tank that's about maybe 40G. Or 55G if you want it a little bigger. OR, you could go a little more to the monster side like me (not completely, just a little) and get yourself something that's about 100G. I'm gonna post some pictures to help you show the size of my tanks. The first is an empty 55G acrylic w/ some props for size. The second is the 55G next to the 100G. Now, picture how much a 300G would dwarf ALL of these tanks. It's too big of a jump, IMO. I went 10-->20-->55-->100. I think that a 55G would be just FINE for you. You could make it a FOWLR when your GSP hits full marine! Don't get me wrong- Big tanks rock, but I think that you need to test yourself with other, less massive tanks before you get yourself into anything that you might get bored of. How long have you been keeping fish?
