no i just pay for supplies which is enough and my parents said they could at least take care of that for me
Well, think about what you're going to stock it with and how much water you'll be changing weekly. Then do a budget to see how much the food and water conditioner is going to cost. I'm not sure how much of an allowance you get, but feeding a 300g full of big hungry monsters and changing 100g of water a week is going to chew thru 'the supplies' pretty quickly...

they're more likely to let me buy an aquarium at age 14 than a car. and they dont want me driving my own for fear of me getting in trouble with it (accident with a friend in it w/o them knowing). they just want to know what im doing all the time so they think an aquarium is better

yeah there is a lot of things to think about, what type of fish will go in there. the water bill for the water changes, how much food will cost. at 14 how do you plan to pay for all this stuff. i say find an aquarium that you can afford, and pay for supplies too.
also who is going to be moving this tank in to your house if you get it?

ive got alot of old crap to sell that will bring in money for a while to support this tank and by the time that runs out i will hopefully have my parents into the hooby so they will be willing to support it themselves. im getting there.

I think a 75 living with my parents is just fine or atleast till i can pay for it. so i would go with something smaller and just hold out. I got my 75 for $299.99 Tank+ stand+hood+light
And the deminsions are asome i think u would be fine with a 75.

I have to dissagree with lots of people out there, my 210 takes way less work after the first set up than any of the smaller tanks I have. If he does it wisely he can do way less work with it. As some of you may also know that having a larger volume of water makes mistakes less drastic. and by the way I can have a 50% wc done in under an hour with my python, just some food for though. ps, I voted get it!

yeh well if u can afford it, than go ahead, and make sure you look after the thing.
it isnt as easy as it may seem cleaning a large tank can be a pain, i went from a stand 4ft to a 260gal 2.5ft high tank which is a pain to clean lol.

I voted no since you live with your parents, and if they dont support you getting a 300g its probably better to wait until you move to an own place. This way you can have something to dream for. I`m dreaming of my BIG A** tank I´m gonna get when my kids move out (in year 2030 or so ) :nilly::cry:

I voted no because it is your parents house and your parents $$. If you can pay for everything including the extra electricity (maybe by doing stuff for your parents), then my mind will change. Good luck though, cuz if you do get it......... Then you can really go ]V[onster!!!
