Its a big step up from the 20g you have now!
I had a 150g when I lived at home and sold it when I went flatting because I knew I wouldn't be settled for a few years (and I needed to upgrade for my 20"+ black aro, which I sold at the same time :(). I've only just bought another big tank (160g) now that my gf has finished uni and we're not going to be moving for a while. Seems how your only 14 and probably have at least another 2-4 years at home you could get it as it sounds like a good deal, but just think about what you stock it with. Otherwise go for something in between line a 150/180g just to prove to them you're serious and will look after a big tank.

If it's something you truly are ready for, then get rid of all your other tanks and consolidate them into one, as long as you have compatible fish. I think 300+ is a bit much for gsp. Unless you have a fish not listed in your sig.

you gotta think about electric and water bills are u gonna pay for those?

no i just pay for supplies which is enough and my parents said they could at least take care of that for me

Hell, even if you don't want it, buy it and sell it on craigslist for $400.00!!!!!

common people!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D

I voted no, wait till you get your on place since you already have more then one tank, no need to steal all their space...

o come on ive got a whole fish room to fill and ive got two nice big walls for two nive big aquariums... 300g will almost fill up that one... now just another one of tho... lol jk

I voted yes, due to many reason...like if you do take that $200 300 gallon tank then your officially a ]v[ONSTER FISH KEEPER but the real reason is that if you do have it from that price for a whole setup you don't have to delay yourself from paying a full Grand $$$$ just for a tank alone but when you buy a new tank for a $1,000 alone your going to have to pay big big big $$ cash to just get some equipment like the duable heaters needed to support the tank requirements to hold tropical temperature, the large Filter(s) like some canisters or the better efficient Wet/Dry system, gravel/sand, light fixture will cost you aswell maybe over $150-350 or way beyond for the light fixture and the lighting itself (light Strip) decoration if add will cost each aswell and the stand will cost WAY much money that will leave you way over $2,000 or more for everything on the setup! So let your parents see the visual price difference....ask them "what do you guys think is more smart to do buy a 300 gallon tank at the cost of $200 for everything needed to set this baby up or buy everything BRAND NEW at a alarming price ranging well over a thousand dollars?" Also by the time you do enter college you won't have to worry due to the years to come by to well establish a need opportunity to plan your next move...you can have the years to fully understand the aquarium with fishes and learn the responsibilty that is needed to take care of this aquarium to its fullest if given the chance to have hold of the aquarium.By responsibilty you will be taking health care for your aquatic life, water stability, the physical and chemical proportions lead out to the chemistry of the water itself, maintaining a well balanced community and such......if by then you have to head to college in a few years your still got ahead of you...you can have the choice if you want to do a (go to college and head back home) or (stay at college and head home when the college years are complete through its academic years till graduation) if you choose the first option you can still have your tank at your parents house and still maintain it but if you take the second choice you have to either find a suitable home to take regards into your own hands of the aquarium and or sell its to someone on the MFK buy and sell section of this thread and or craigslist.com....So with most of the reasons being said I hope you the ery best luck at hopefully getting your very own 300 gallon tank! :headbang2 and hopefully with my kind and well thought out words may come to your parents thoughts that they grant you the tank approval in accepting it into your hands with responsibity. ;) Good Luck my friend...
