Maybe because they feel like the results of feeding their food speaks for itself and they don't have to hype their pellets in order to get people to try them?

And yet Hikari spends the money to be a sponsor on the largest fish forum....That's not hyping a food?? People nowadays spend time on these forums learning because the assumption game is getting old and people want info and testimonials on the stuff they're using be it food or whatever it may be. I myself love that they spent the time to lay out the facts and they dont seem to be hiding from anyone by assuming that the results speak for themselves. I'm the one following blindly??

The point of this thread was to get people to read the article. Has anyone actually read the whole thing?

I read the entire article and it was a very good read. My only problem is that when an article pushing a certain brand is written by the owner of that brand, I tend to invest less stock in what I'm reading. I use nls and hikari and my fish definitely find the massivore more appealing but I don't notice difference in my fish when I feed 1 of them exclusively.

Sorry fishman I didnt read it but i will. how many people keep fish past a coiple years to see the true out come of that junk Hikari makes? Probally few! Things change and what was good prior might not be so good presently.Wheat is a big filler in fish food, dog food and human food. Wheat is 100 percent not what it was 20 years ago its gentically modified and full of chemicals and pestisides and is a leading cause to alot of problems. So if I can cut out wheat I am more then happy

Thank you for reading. I agree about that when its written by the owner its a little less bias but still loaded with solid info. Again thanks for reading as that was the purpose of this thread to start with. Not trying a fish food war but people obviously cant stay away from that stuff.

Yeah you are. I just go by my experience, not by marketing ploys such as those that are so frequently released by NLS to get people to buy their fish food even though it doesn't work any better than some of the other foods out there and performs worse in some areas as well in my experience. Virtually every fish food on the market now contains stuff like spirulina and caretonoids to enhance/buffer the coloration of your pet fish and produces exactly the same effect that people claim only NLS can achieve in terms of coloration and form. Also people who feed only NLS and buy it in bulk aren't your typical fish keepers, the fish that they keep are already of very high qualities to begin with and would have ended up with the same coloration and form regardless if you raised them on NLS or something like Tetrabits.

I'm not saying that NLS is a bad food, it isn't. I'm just saying that you can achieve the same results, in some cases better results in terms of growth rates, coloration, etc, feeding other foods that are on the market instead of NLS. Is that really hard to believe?

And people who are NLS fanatics can't refrain from trying to shove it down other people's throats. Case in point, this thread.

I use NLS exclusively because there is plenty of information out there about it's composition and no other food that I have found has an ingredients list that seems as solid. I have spent dozens of hours going through the threads and posts Neil has put up and all that I have read makes sense. So I jumped on the bandwagon and love the results. You see a lot of fish that after they get a couple of years old that start to look sloppy and none of mine do. A lot ofthat has to do with my water changes and good stock, but the NLS certainly doesn't hurt. I could care less what anyone else feeds and if offered proof of a better diet through science I would switch in a heartbeat, but I feel like there is no other food on the market right now that compares IMO. Can you have healthy fish an not feed it, sure but to me I see no reason not to feed it like almost every other food I have encountered. And Forrest I did read the article and had read it before I made the switch.;) it was a good read but not why I did switch. I have Neil to thank for that and product quality and value to thank for keeping me on it.
