why

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
their is not really no way you can enhance a 20k car yes you can polish it but if it stops running after a few months you normally have a warranty that you can take it back within 1 year unless its a private sale

the same can be said for dogs or cats theirs not really no way to enhance them you can look over a cat or dog and get a vet health check before you part with your money

now we have burnt out the xback thing :D

lets talk about reds super red chili red and blood reds

someone has stated they can get super reds for $800 in another thread

we are also seeing some £800 reds

if all the above coments are anything to go on the cheap reds must be complete junk

OR

is the aro market crashing

I heard someone say the market for asians in UK are crashing and that prices are coming down hard. Unfortunately I don't see any of that action here in Canada yet.

For sure its happening here.

In stores and online a few years back RTG's were going for over $1000, now you can have them from a petstore for around $500 depending where you are. Same goes with other types. I bought my frist green for $500, now I could get one for $200.

In my opinion it's just a sign of the times. There are now more farms than before, with some farms being run as corporate enterprises, (Shelook is an example.). It's supply and demand, the fish still keep breeding and the farms, along with the suppliers or shops still need to sell what they have and what they produce. Demand has dropped due people not having the money to throw round, to stick with the analogy look at the new car market globally.
The farms have 2 choices, kill all new stock in order to maintain the high value and rarity of the Asian aro, or sell them for less to recuperate initial investment. I think in a year or 2 there will never be a better time to buy an Asian aro.
This is my line of thought but i live in SEA. I don't know if it translates to the UK or any other country outside Asia. You may see the price drop but i think the quality will be sold locally before it filters out to Canada or the UK.

very well said classics and true that of course the best qualitys are sold too the locals 1st or too the country with the most demands on high quality

I've seen that too, but thats over time, I thought T1 was talking about an instant drop.

Shelook red sell for about $800 US in Thailand now. 30,000bht max for a 8 inch fish which is showing some red.

here in toronto
prices are actually going up in some cases,
my LFS had a huge banjar for 400 dollars than he bumped it to 800

well for me my aros were ok but not great

if you think they were great what justifies a 20k aro over my 2k aros

this was a 2.5k aro again what makes a 20k aro better over this certed 24k aro

2 weeks after being placed in non white tank you can see the shine levels starting to drop

Don't confuse yourself on the shine issue. True shine will never drop even if place the aro in coloured tank out from white FGT. If it's the skin over those scales that turnes goldish yellow in white FGT placed into coloured tank then it will appear if the shine have dropped. In the first place, there's no shine to start with but the lightened skin over the scales only.

One way to determind if it's shine or not is simple, just compare the shine on the 3rd row's scales to the top or to the those you think are shine. If both are identical, then it's shine. And if it's not, then it's just lightened up skin over scales only.
