Hello Dan Ye! You are going to have to send me some fish once I get my fishroom up and running again :D Im glad to see you are working with Don. See you in Milwaukee? Kyle

Hi Dan,

Do you know if DCT has anymore?

When was it collected?

How long have you had this guy. Is it stable, eating, etc? I know this can be a frustrating species to work with.

I have him about six month, I also have some F1s which I have been growing them about a year. Yesterday, I moved my Haitiensis to new tank beside this yellow Lab, his colour changed right way, he was really plain looking for almost half year.I think my Haitiensis did something to that yellow lab.

Cool fish! Nice to see them around again.

That is one awesome puppy. I have 2 1.5" guys from Rapps, obviously not wild caught like yours. I'm most envious.

No need to be envious! Rusty Wessel collected the parents of your fish, and F-1's are often much easier to take care of than wilds (especially large wild specimens). They tend to be healthier in many cases too. I'd much rather start with group of young F-1's or 2's.

As long as some of the breeders have fresh blood, we're all going to get good healthy labridens!

I have found over the years that the F1,F2 generations seem to be less skittish and generally more comfortable in overall aquarium life. Consider that and the fact that they have good bloodlines for future breeding and its a win win.
The biggest issue Ive had with F0 stock has been internal parasites. watch the water water quality and food types and no worries.

What's the Latin name for these? new species for me.

Herichthys Labridens I believe. Very pretty fish.
