Well I have lost most of the fry...might have 100 or so left. There was a small ammonia and nitrite spike .25ppm or so but I dont know if thats what did it or not. I did a good water change and added some safe start and now its all 0. The tank was new but I used some old bio from a cycled tank but maybe it was not strong enough for all those fish. But I am still loosing them day after day but now that I take a close look at the dead and dying ones I think maybe it might be some aggression killing them too. There are healthy ones...dieing ones that are head standing wiggling and floating (not swimming) in the current and dead ones. The dieing and dead ones seem to have there tails nipped pretty good. I am thinking now that maybe once the tails get nipped enough they cant swim well and get tired and die from it. There are some live ones that are just floating on top the water and when I touch them they move. So maybe its a combo of the water mishap and aggression that has wiped out most of them. I had them all in a 36x18x21 tank because I thought they were too small to kill each other...maybe I was wrong. I will spread them out more next spawn....and that might not bee too far off at this point. He has been beating on her pretty good since I pulled the fry but she is starting to do her dance again a little bit.
