Wild Festae laid some eggs

The momma is moving them to a pile in the back of the pot as they hatch...pretty cool.
 
BEAUTIFUL PAIR! Congratz. Be sure to leave that algae for the fry. My pair just had fry and they spent the first 3 weeks grazing in it and grew superfast.

Our males look like twins.
 
Yeah I have left it there for them to graze on purpose...I thought thats what they would do with it.

Majority of the eggs have hatched and she piled them up in the back corner...its hard to focus going through the glass on a angle. I hope the ones on the bottom of the pile up are ok lol

I have read that about the male after the spawning...if he has never done it in the past does that mean he probably wont, or its a crapshoot every time? I dont recall the guy having them before me ever having to divide them.

Nothing is a "given" - but better safe than sorry right? In my case -
Fry #1 momma killed
Fry #2 momma was left alone
Fry #3 momma to the hospital tank
Fry #4 - unknown I'm in the same boat as you

She painted the tank on friday with more eggs. Purchased a 150 gal tank sameday to hold the male. He's killed way too many community fish while breeding to be in the same tank as the fry. Heres the link to my thread from Saturday morning.
