hopefully its the more experienced ones that buy the kelberis...
though,i dont think most people actually have kelberi as their first cichla.:grinno:
i cant wait either...hopefully we get that MO going...hehe.

You would be surprised!

I would have been one of those people if the timing was right. There are some that were here long before us that were waiting and waiting and waiting. And I am sure that they also would of just bought Kels given the choice.

SEE now your talking like those that came before us. Been around a little while I see! And man I was nervous buying Occels for the first time. :nilly:

this is pretty much why i havent messed with kelberis; their skittish nature, very picky eaters, etc. i dont have the time or patience to deal with a fish like that. especially in my tank where its chaos during feeding time. a shy kelberi would NOT work. and that is why i havent gotten any, since i know i wouldnt be able to look out for this fish individually.

but if the price is right this time around, i MAY give it a try :)

^ thats what i hear a lot on this site

is it true many are struggling to train their wc kelberi to eat prepared food and pellets?

I could never get any from the 1st and second batch to eat anything but live. Sad to say I loss them (1st and 2nd batch) They were always scared and skittish. But these had the best color and most spangles!
The 3rd batch was a different story all together. They are aggressive and eat pellets...

Jeff-will these look like the fist 2 batches or the 3rd?

My third batch are pretty darn aggressive. They hold their own against my orino. They were also the first, of my growout of azuls and kelberi, to take pellets, krill, and shrimp so in my experience converting has been easy.
