Will a dwarf puffer be good with my convicts

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
don't know about crabs but yes the pleco will grow way to large for that tank and pretty quickly. And the Cory cat will die at the mouths of the convicts unless you remove it, + they are schooling fish but that besides the point

see? seriously man, return the cory and the pleco and the crab.

Not only will the cory die at the mouth of one of the cons, but i would think he may take one with him when they get his little dorsal spine in thier skull. I could be wrong as I don't own any cons, but I've dealt with cories enough to know that they can be dangerous in that way.

my grandmother has had a cory for atleast a year now by itself, there was a pair, but one died... the fish is fine. he swims, eats thats it.. hes a cory. The pleco will outgrow, but for the mean time, let him grow!!! who cares... the cons will HONESTLY kill whatevr they decide not to like once they have babies... my cons are whooping JDs as we speak. The hermit crab would be a quick snack for a puffer, but if he's made it this far in the tank , sound slike he can manage for longer... man do what makes you happy, its YOUR money, your TIME, and your TANK... might just wanna upgrade the gallons, but the power to ya!

i just got two DP yesterday... but they have their own tank... i wouldnt dream of putting something that small in with cons... DP only get at max 1.5 inches... can you say lunch

EDIT: I dont think a DP can kill a hermit crab

You never told us what type of hermit crab you have?

Don't think they will be food for the puffer? Tell that to all of the helpless crayfish that were killed by fish 1/4 their size.

you really think a DP could take down a hermit crab? i dont see how they are so tiny... if they eat snail they have to be very thin shelled from what i have been reading...

Puffers are tougher than you may think. Hermit crabs have little tiny legs, all they need is to get flipped over. He is too small to destroy the hermit crab, but he can easily kill it.
