Why is a crayfish in your tank? Fish rest on the bottom of the tank and crayfish will just harrass them as you can see.

Not always, I had one and it worked out great until one day my GT decided she didn't like the crawfish anymore.

It dont work out..its just luck...and stress for the fish, then when the cichlids get bigger..its dinner time :)

I think that tail is not coming back. If you have a large oscar I see nothing wrong with recycling. Or you are going to have to keep that terror away from any other cichlids as they will pick on it due to the weakness

see i got this guy a couple days ago. not very attached to it just find it as a burdon, no offense to the little guy. i have him in a 10 gal since he is healing and still very small. im giving him melafix also. its not a great idea but his only option. so either i get rid of him some how, peacfuly or not, is not the matter hear (sorry). Or he can live in a 60 gal hex.. not great. as for the crayfish i wanted to kill him but havent... ha ha and ive had him for years with fish and this is the first time this happened. very out of his character. so what u guys think? 60 gal hex after healing? or get rid of some how? and if you think get rid just suggest something even though i saw plenty of suggestions. thank ya.

and as for crayfish im not sure if u guys talking about them have owneed them, he never bothered the fish, i was rearranging the tank and had the water drained a bit so he was in a weird mood. as some people know they seem to act the same way unless something is different. so im not bagging on the crayfish that much. freak accident is how i see it, u probably dissagree.

oh yea the terror is doing just fine, swimming around and eating as if he had his tail. no different. so id like to keep him in the 60? he prob wont swim much.. so is that ok?

ahhhh that really sucks!!! thats why i have always stayed away from crayfish

yeah that sucks, whenever i tried crayfish my fish were a little bit bigger so it always turned out the other way around lol but yeah if he is going to be impaired for the rest of his life and your not really attached to it i would just feed it to your oscar and put him out his misery and please let this be a lesson to at least let any new fish grow out some before placing it with crayfish, or better option just get rid of crayfish lol (i hear they make a tasty gumbo......)

Just let him heal up and see. Someone even offered to take him. I have seen catfish like this before and other fish. Even search threads on MFK. I have seen it healed before the whole end of a catfish gone and it healed. But its not gonna look like new. Just let it heal and see, and if you dont like the fish, there is people who will give it a home.
