i dont think its gonna pass because why try to pass it while there are already billions of pet in the unites states already. and plus how can u stop them from breeding? its a natural thing. if the unites states passes it im moving to canada or australia!

I live in canada. So at this time, the bill does not affect me. I agree it will affect me if it passes since a lot of fish come from teh states I imagine. Plus, I imagine it will come to canada if it passes in teh states anyway.
if it does pass, I do not think it will stop anyone from having pets...they will just buy them another way.
like illegal drugs.
you will have people at the back of corner stores trading fish for money haha
so if it passes, the gov't will just lose taxes and the GDP will decrease. LOL
and the recession will continue, maybe turn into a depression eventually. gov't will print more money to cover costs, thus increasing inflation which helps destroy an economy.
joys
lol
my ripple of doom...

You know, the initial idea of it was bad.
I wrote a long opposition letter and sent it all over the place.
But after watching the hearing, I think it would be a good idea.
I mean, it needs ALOT of work, no doubt.
But if there was a compromise, I don't think it'd be totally bad.

Of course, it doesn't solve all of the existing problems, and human responsibility needs to be the first thing.

Well, so many people get bored of there fish and dump them in any old lake and that fish maybe a large piscavore who relies on small fish for their diet. This could wipe out the population of small fish that the large fish is feeding on and those small fish may be vital to the ecosystem. But because of the current state of the economy in the USA, i think many will agree against it, it will only furtherly damage the economy.

When you buy a fish it should be registered. Then there should be a check up on the pet at some interval to make sure you still have it. If your gonna give it away sign over the ownership to the new person. If it dies put it in the freezer to verify its dead and ur off the hook. Problem solved.

i believe it will pass, but i put no because i think the economy will plummet and it will be lifted

I don't want it to pass, but I am afraid (as has been said in the thread before) that many gov. officials will just see invasive species and automatically think BAD without really understanding the impacts of the bill
