Will they Heal or Is it to Late?

That's what happens when someone buys a pike that doesn't do water changes:irked:.

The holes will never go away. You can stop it by adding salt, upping the temp and keeping the water extra clean. Pikes don't like nitrates.

if you decide to take them on and heal them, it will be a challenge. you will need to dedicate a lot of time so they can recover. i am a firm believer that if you medicate them, up the water changes, and have a balanced diet. they will come around.

Most pike and cichlids with get hith one day it just happens. I did water changes 2 times a week and my old pike still got it and my water is always perfect

I have to completely disagree with this. I have been keeping cichlids for a lot of years and pikes for quite a few. I have one pike that has very minimal HITH and that started when I was away for two weeks. My water smelled like sewage from over feeding. A good varied diet and pristine water should keep any fish from getting HITH. I find out alot of times when peoples cichlids, most often oscars, it is because they are feeding cheap food and not vacuuming gravel.

It doesn't look like HITH to me.. at least, I've never seen it that bad. Looks like horribly bad ammonia burns, or someone had a heater without a cover and the fish got burned on it.

I can't go with this at all. I have never kept Pikes but I have kept many CA/SA Cichlids. My stock has never suffered from HITH. I feed a varied diet, have great filtration, never overstock, and I do weekly water changes. I'm not claiming that my keeping is the best, there are far better setups that I have seen on here. But I just have to disagree that HITH is just something that every fish will get. It's a real shame about those Pikes. That should have been caught and treated a long time ago. It shows a real lack of respect and care for such beautiful fish.

If your fish get HITH, something is wrong. Either their diet is incomplete or their water parameters are off. Clean water does not always equal good water. If a soft water fish is being kept in hard water, this can sometimes happen. I've mentioned this several times about my Uaru fernandezyepezi. Some fish are just more adaptable than others. So even with pristine water, a fish can still suffer if the parameters aren't ideal.

This is definitely HITH. The erosion along the lateral line and head give it away. Unfortunately it's very advanced. I can't believe anyone would let it go that far.
