.I have to completely disagree with this. I have been keeping cichlids for a lot of years and pikes for quite a few. I have one pike that has very minimal HITH and that started when I was away for two weeks. My water smelled like sewage from over feeding. A good varied diet and pristine water should keep any fish from getting HITH. I find out alot of times when peoples cichlids, most often oscars, it is because they are feeding cheap food and not vacuuming gravel.AQUAMONSTER;4776847; said:Most pike and cichlids with get hith one day it just happens.
I can't go with this at all. I have never kept Pikes but I have kept many CA/SA Cichlids. My stock has never suffered from HITH. I feed a varied diet, have great filtration, never overstock, and I do weekly water changes. I'm not claiming that my keeping is the best, there are far better setups that I have seen on here. But I just have to disagree that HITH is just something that every fish will get. It's a real shame about those Pikes. That should have been caught and treated a long time ago. It shows a real lack of respect and care for such beautiful fish.AQUAMONSTER;4776847;4776847 said:Most pike and cichlids with get hith one day it just happens. I did water changes 2 times a week and my old pike still got it and my water is always perfect
