To me, these fish should be put down, for their own good, they will never recover from this, a lot of the flesh is simply gone and will not grow back!

+1. They are suffering right now, just because they are alive but living a horrid life. Its your call man, but I really wouldn't mess with this unless you intend to put them down for the sake of the fish.

Furthermore its ridiculous for ANYONE to sell these fish.

A person who had the pikes in Michigan caused the disease and the person who has them now has been treating them for about 3 years now.

Theres your answer by the way. If the person who has had these fish for three years and has been treating them can't get them to 'recover', there is little chance you will be able to either. The damage is irreversible.

If the new owner is willing to take on the responsibilty and care of these animals the current owner should willingly give them up at a majorly reduced cost. I'm not going to argue that the fish should be destroyed, but the current owner should think more about the fish than his pocketbook.

I absolutely agree! Instead of getting the pikes, maybe I should advise the seller what he/she should do.

The person is selling them for $50 each....but your seriously saying because of someones stupidity, I should kill them? WOW!
LOL LOL They are worth nothing(definitely not $50) and I would just say I will take them off your hands for nothing as it will cost lots to treat and cure them!!

FOR REAL? This is even funnier!! Three years and they still look like this!! You better tell them to just put them out of their misery ASAP!! STOP THE SUFFERING NOW!!

Really no reason for fish to be like this at any time!! Someone better take up a new hobby!!

Hmm are these fish for sale in Ontario Can?. If so ive been in contact with this seller recently. If not, the person ive been dealing with is using these same pics. The person im dealing with says hes been using hole in the head gaurd plus massive water changes over the time hes had them (years). Seeing sores that "open" and showing no signs of healing id have my doubts. He also offered me two of them for free since id offered him ideas on how to try to heal them, asking if id be willing to try and help. I said yes. Then he went MIA. If it is the same person, you could be the reason for that, thinking he had a sale :P. Either way, no ones going to BUY those fish. And i couldnt blame them. Id take them and do my best to heal them ASAP, but other then that, wouldnt waste my money, time or pain.

This is a very sad thread. While I may not always be able to provide the perfect conditions for my fish I certainly try very hard to give them clean water, the proper tank space and weekly water changes. And I never house any fish in a tank thats too small for them to live out a somewhat normal live given that they are being kept in captivity. I think these fish should be put down in the most human way possilbe. Like I said, very sad.

Yeah, it's probably the same person. Well, I glad he or she has been treating them. I respect them enough for that.
