lol...well, the person who has them said when they got them they were a lot worse. The seller said the male had it the worst. He mentioned that it was so bad that you could actually see part of the male's brain.skillzizzo;4778513; said:agreed. And this pisses me off. Ruin such as awsome fish. And buitifull to boot. If this is a shop they should be shut down. And hit them selfs in the head with a hammer

If you are willing to cringe each time you look at your tank, struggle with helping them 'recover', and alright with the fact that they will never really look the same, then I suggest you do get them. Its not the their fault they were kept in ridiculous situations.
Sometimes stopping HITH and preventing HITH can be a SERIOUS pain in the arse. It can be a constant battle, and very discouraging some times. This is beyond acceptable though, and seriously breaks my heart. No fish should have to go through this.
If you DO get them, I would seriously consider putting them down. They are currently suffering an immense amount, and have a great potential to suffer a whole lot more.![]()
I could sound cruel by saying this, but I would not spend $100 on fish that are so riddled by HITH. Those Pikes have suffered for quite some time. I would spend that money with a good vendor and get healthy Pikes. You may not be able to get those Pikes at the same sizes for $100, but at least you will have healthy fish. Im far from an expert of Pikes so I don't know how to price them. But that's too much for me. I can understand seeing a sick fish at a LFS that can be bought and cured at a minimal cost. I have seen some very nice fish that were once close to death. The health of those Pikes is just sad.#1_Cichlid_Breeder;4783054;4783054 said:The person is selling them for $50 each....but your seriously saying because of someones stupidity, I should kill them? WOW!

It's not a vendor who is selling them. A person who had the pikes in Michigan caused the disease and the person who has them now has been treating them for about 3 years now.BigPic;4784619; said:I think that it is bad business on the LFS's part to even have fish like that in the store, if private, shame on the vendor for trying to sell such terribly pitted fish. To me, these fish should be put down, for their own good, they will never recover from this, a lot of the flesh is simply gone and will not grow back!
