which leaves me with 1 EBJD in the 55:irked:

What's so wrong with an understocked tank?

With a 55 Gallon and an EBJD you can make it a fully planted setup with a nice big school of rummynose or something. Maybe add some yoyo loaches - would be a great community tank with the EBJD as the centerpiece fish.

i didnt say i dont like understocked tanks...

I just liek big fish:D the EBJD would be the centerpiece lol, obviously and a community tank is what I want...

I just have no idea on how to get one going

the only prob I have is some people say my current stock will work, some people say it wont..

the people who say yes say it because of the filtration and WC routine would be plenty to support the bioload =/

I plan on adding a 20 gallon sump with nothing but bio filtration in it, because i already have a magnum HOT and a tetra 30-60 with another one coming so all together 4 filters on one tank =/

Big fish and a 55 gallon don't mix, that's the problem :D

very true

when i first started I thought my 20G was huge so i put in a RB pacu, oscar, tinfoil barb, 2 gouramis, 2 bala sharks, 2 blood parrots and 2 crabs lol

I say it won't work based off the foot print of the tank. The width of a 55 gallon is 12.75", Oscars can grow 12" +- a few inches. So you're going to put a fish into a tank where it's almost longer then the width, then also have a 7-9 inch fish and then add 2 cons? Yeah, not going to work IMO.

Yeah, I see where ur coming from but the cons can go in the 20L if I can catch them lol... I cant seem to net them =/

could they go without decor for a while?

Yeah the cons will be fine.

If I were you I'd keep both the EBJD's in the 55g and take the Oscar back. Yes one might be a runt but if you grow them out the runt might take on better coloration. That and if being raised in the same tank they might accept each other for life as tank mates.

A 55g with two nicely colored EBJD's is nothing to scoff at, what they lack in size they will more then make up for in color.

what is there that is blue and could be used as a dither?
