Have you seen national geograhics "jewels of the rift"? I don't know how big that fish is but it seems very thick and powerful. It's pushing that turtle around like it's a stuffed animal. Might not be as thick as a p bass but I don't really think it's that far off.

pbass arent all that thick either if you think about it and pretty much all the experts agree that emps are the largest

Comparatively to a thick fish like a dovii or umbee they are not thick they are stream lined; the first fish is not 40" if you read the original post correctly its around 34" and we dont see many pics of people fishing for emps, but from what i have heard they have caught 40" sl emps those pbass are measured in tl,not as many people are fishing for emps as they are for pbass

Biggest cichlid is cichla temensis. Go look at the IGFA world record and the length. I'm pretty sure it's around 38-40". But, yeah. You are thinking of a dovii and should not house more than one together unless a male/female spawning pair with a divider.

I have 4 large dovi together with no divider, wanna argue about that.

That is a rare case to keep 4 together at large sizes unless they are in a huge tank. No one has shown pics of these 40" emperor's, until then the pbass, in my opinion is the largest cichlid.
