I've had the cute lil fish as I was growing up.One thing you'll notice in the hobby
the more serious you become about it,you'll notice a shift to one group for me its the
''primitive species'' in particular bichirs,lungfish and gars.And if I had the time & money and space i'd be the first one on my block to have an aussie lungfish.

But yes, I agree. I was just curious as to the background and reason behind it. I have an over 20+" Congicus and 18+" thick Endli and most women who see it in my tank is frightened of it... and think it's ugly.

No, far from that. Just wondering since as I mentioned (not to sound bias) but you would think most women are into colorful cute fish. That's why the ladies of MFK rock and know there stuff.

what i like about them is how they chew and play with their food... they throw it up in the air..retrieve it and then chew it like a puppy..so cute.

I like their keen sense of smell. I have a tank that is filtered on the same system and when I feed that tank, the scent eventually makes it over to the tank my Bichirs are in and they will start sniffing out the source... they go nuts.

LOL no i just love mean fish! i hate those silly little guppies etc they look so mindless just swimming all over the place. i dont like horror movies, i like action movies more and chick flicks too
