Over 1 year ago I purchased From Dustins aquarium plants. SINCE that time and the ONLY SOURCE OF LIVE PLANTS I have HAD a Daily and constant battle with Trumpet snails, Today alone on my 40 breeder picked out 40 or more snails. THEY WERE The only source of live plants placed in tank 75s and 40 gallons. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM HIM AGAIN> Never returned calls. Do u know of a Reliable snail free source of plants online, Been doing tanks for 38 years mostly saltwater , Got back into freshwater to start a live plant tank. Now all i seem to do is watch for and REMOVE SNAILS> Reef tanks NEVER had this issue. Please advise, Thanks.

You will always run the risk of introducing snails when you have a planted tank. Tissue culture plants are probably the only snail free available. That said, TC plants are difficult to get established or to transition to submerged.
Trumpet snails are difficult to eradicate. Pea puffer don’t seem to be able to attack them. Loaches might work. I have assassin snails but you are almost replacing one pest with another and I still have trumpets in the tanks wheee I added assassins.
Trumpets and ramshorn snails are live bearing. Bladder snails lay eggs. Only one trumpet or ramshorn is needed to start production. Only one satchet of eggs to introduce bladder. Cut back on how much you are feeding and this will help reduce the numbers.
Reef tanks have brittle stars and bristle worms and little white starfish and ….
Welcome to the fabulous world of “I’m not in control of what happens.”:grinyes:

From Dustin's website FAQ: Do I have to worry about snails?
We do our best to provide a sterile environment for the plants to grow but it's impossible to guarantee the safety of your tank from these things ordering from outside suppliers. Please if you are concerned do a bleach dip. Check out my video on How to Kill Snails.

You never had Aiptasia, flatworms, nudis, AEFW, vermetid snails, bristle worms, brittle stars, serpent stars in all your 38 years of saltwater? If not, good for you

No NEVER Had an issue ! Thats what 38 years of reef keeping gave me, Sorry ur Belligerent towards WHAT IS TRUE!

Sorry but...you will NEVER get guaranteed snail free plants from pretty much anywhere. You can hardly blame a retailer - especially one that states right on their site that snails are possible and advises how to deal with it. If snails are a problem for you, then you should ALWAYS treat any plants you buy before ever adding them to your tank. That's on you, not the supplier. If the plants you received were healthy and what you ordered, they did their job properly and running around badmouthing them is out of line.
