I have always looked down at people who fish for shark. Why? They get an unfair advantage. When I go to the lake to catch a rainbow trout I have to use bait. The easiest bait to catch trout on is corn. Why? Because that's what they use in the hatcheries here to feed them. It puts them in a frenzy when it hits the water. But guess what? It's illegal to use it, thus giving the trout a sporting chance. Sharks on the other hand are lured by chunks of bloody meat and chum. It drives them into a frenzy, making them easier to catch. It isn't fair to the animal. I'm not a hippy shark loving freak, but fair is fair. If people are going to catch and kill these great creatures that we know so little about, they should have to do it on a more even playing field.

Catching a shark is OK, because they will eat many common baits, but fishing for them is questionable, as they are depleted in number.

I think it's a waste, the stingray they killed to catch it and the hammerhead as well. I think their dickheads.

Seeing that shark makes me sad.. it takes a long time as we all know to let it grow that big... and they are becomming even more rare evertime some jack ass pulls one out of the water :(

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but that shark was caught around here and it's looking like it was pregnant, which contributed to it's weight

I am a very keen fisherman and the only fish that I have killed are salt water fish to eat. ( I hope he is hungry and has a very large Barbeque) I enjoy the sport and think that they have the right to go back and to be enjoyed by other people. Killing that fish as Mr. DeLgAdO said is a a ****in waste. i did see The shark was donated to the Mote Marine Laboratory where it will be studied by their research team. What are they going to do a CSI on it to see who and what killed it??
