LoL, I know, We're family here! I'm just a little kid with a real big fish fetish!:screwy:

Ah shutup! any one of you people would of cut and gutted that thing faster than those guys probably did. So stop trying to act holyier than thou and shut up. If you caught a billion dollars on the end of your fishing rod would you let it go? I think not. So stuff that you cranberrie-mashing dingleberries. SERVED

In 1914, the last passenger pigeon died putting the species extinct. The dusky seaside sparrow went extinct in 1987. There are some of us that don't think about money when it comes to wildlife and its protection. We are not tree huggers either. I am currently on my fourth year of a Bachelor's degree in Ecology where I am planning on working with endangered and invasive species. I don't say I am holier than thou, just more considerate of wildlife. A live specimen makes for better studies than a dead one, after all the anatomy is going to be the same no matter the size. What scientists really need to study is the behavior.

Interesting, I'm getting my degree in Marine Zoology. Some day I would like to work in the pet industry on aquaculture of marine corals and food producing fishes. Or just work in the Atlanta, GA Aqua!! :headbang2

My hobby is aquaculturing corals, it is very interesting at times. My brother is wanting me to help him get started raising Yellow Perch for the food industry. I am wanting to work for the government (not a lot of money, but plenty of work).

You know who's doing alot of hiring right now for Aquaculturing, Australia. I was surprised myself, but I quess they are on the front lines when it comes to conserving their natural resources. Once I done here, I'd love to move to Australia and work there!!:grinyes:

I agree that the death of that shark is unfortunate. But, sportfishing isn't destroying the shark population, irresponsible commercial fishing is.

One guy going outy and killing a shark is not hurting a population...your right. But hundreds or thousands of fishermen fishing everyday, paying charter boats, taking place in tournaments....you get the point, sportsfishing places a bigger part than you think. Animals have gone extinct from sports fishing or hunting in the past.
