World Record Hammerhead: 1262 pounds!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
One guy going outy and killing a shark is not hurting a population...your right. But hundreds or thousands of fishermen fishing everyday, paying charter boats, taking place in tournaments....you get the point, sportsfishing places a bigger part than you think. Animals have gone extinct from sports fishing or hunting in the past.

I can agree with that. The problem is, you can't ban sportfishing, but sharks eat so many different things, it would be tough not to catch them. It would be like telling people not to catch bullheads on US lakes.

I also agree with this statement. I feel that we can have this debate for some time regarding protecting sharks and other large ocean species.

:) For the People who made MFK, it's threads like this that invoke thought and decision that makes MFK alive and well in the community of fish keeping! Hats off to you MFK Admin!:headbang2 :clap

I agree. This is a dicussion forum, that's why we are here.

Ah shutup! any one of you people would of cut and gutted that thing faster than those guys probably did. So stop trying to act holyier than thou and shut up. If you caught a billion dollars on the end of your fishing rod would you let it go? I think not. So stuff that you cranberrie-mashing dingleberries. SERVED

i would let the shark go, and i stand firm on my position.

Agreed, and there is no way in hell you could convince me otherwise. There is also no way you would get paid a billion dollers either. You don't get paid for breaking a record.

one quick question... who in there right mind would put there hand that close to a sharks mouth? and how did they get it back to the dock to weaigh it?

Some records are worth money in endorsements, but that record was worth practically nothing. If money is your goal, there isn't any in fishing for sport for most people.
