I just saw that on CNN, and couldn't believe it. So huge, I think such specimins should be left in the wild, if they could survive everything else for that long to get that big, then a dood with a gun shouldn't take him out in less than a second.
 
Chris it was probably a huge hog but I don't think it was as big as they claim. If I caught a hog that big I wouldn't cut it up right away and just mount the head. No intermediate party verified the weight/size either.

Why is it sad?
 
BNo way on earth is that hog "killable" by a revolver...give me a break..a mercy killing, and ending to the kill, ok, but no way would the kid kill that with a trevolver, a weapon which is effective ( in an experienced person's hands ) at very short distances. ..distances where a 11 year old kid would shet himself to death if in the vicinity of such a beast, and belive me, a dangerous beast it would be..

so forget the hogwash.....

i have shot deer with one.

its hardly a shot at all.

You are probably right it more than likely wasn't as big as they claimed but still a massive beats. I am saddened anytime any living thing dies. The huge gars people catch and stuff like that. I am actually getting soft in my older years and finding it hard to even feed feeders to my fish.

This is not just any revolver. It is the most powerful one in production. I am not the hunting type at all but I spoke to a buddy on the phone who is well versed in the area of guns and ammo and he assured me without a doubt this gun could easily bring down this hog no problem at all.

I wouldn't call 200 yards very short distance.
