  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
if you look at the pic the kid is sitting probally 10' behind the hog to make it look bigger there is no way that thing is that big they proved that hogzilla wasnt as big as they said we always have the world biggest boar competition here at the Iowa State Fair and they are huge but also fed to be made fat I dont believe that its as big as they say

I was thinking more like having the kid lean on something else for a pic, then kill a large boar, enlarge the boar size in PS and then insert kid leaning on boar.

I agree no way it's real. Hogzilla I was a stretch, no way there is one that big...

Of course it's real didn't you guys see the web site I sent you:)

On a serious note why couldn't it be real. There are captive pigs that are well over 1000 lbs. The heaviest in fact almost double that size. Domesticated pigs can turn feral in as little as two weeks. This could easily be one they grew then released only to hunt for it on their 2500 acre hunting preserve to make for a big news story.

what a wuss to shoot it. I would have jumped out of a tree and wrastled it to the ground and broke its neck with my berr hands. (spit to the side)

This is not just any revolver. It is the most powerful one in production. I am not the hunting type at all but I spoke to a buddy on the phone who is well versed in the area of guns and ammo and he assured me without a doubt this gun could easily bring down this hog no problem at all.

The .500 Smith and Wesson calibre can fire at incredible velocities and deliver an unusually large quantity of kinetic energy - the most high-powered commercial round weighing 440 grains (28.5 g) has a muzzle energy of 2600 foot·pounds force (3.5 kJ). However handloaders have experimented with 500 grain bullets developing 3000+ foot·pounds (4.1 kJ) of muzzle energy.

Articles, statements, and opinions vary widely on this firearm. Any of the available bullet weights can be relied on to take game at a range in excess of 200 yards (180 m), a feat matched by only a handful of other pistol-type firearms
I wouldn't call 200 yards very short distance.

All you say is very true, my friend. A .38 , even a .32, can kill at 200 yards...much more a .500 the point is: how many people can aim and shoot a revolver straight at a 200 yard distance? No way am I going to believe that an 11 year old is so proficient at revolver shoting that it could manage the aim, the recoil, etc...

well, upon seing the site that The Trust posted, the pix where it all seems a lie is the one with the kid leaning on top of th epig. If one considers the pix where the pig is hanging from the tractor alongside kid and kid's parent, it does not seem so tottally far fetched....

200 yards with a pistol is rediculous.

Ok it could be real I guess. But far chance IMO.

It is just in the last few years these hogs have become feral and grown huge? why is that? 10 years ago or 20 years ago no one bagged a hogzilla? All I'm saying is the last one was said to be smaller than people were trying to say and this one has all the publicity signals of the last one.

(I should set up scheme to bag 40ft home fed "wild" anaconda on local land...) *Impossible due to NE weather I know, just a point..

I'd like to hear more of the story though. Did they use dogs to corner it?,etc

BTW, chris you know too much about hogs. I watched hogzilla like 3 times and even I don't remember that much info..
