^ I have said glass heaters, and my trick is to wrap a yo-yo string around the bottome part that would bang againsst the glass. My butti is a heater-smasher, and he hasnt broken one since i started using this technique.

i have just given up on theo hydor 400 watt heaters and am returning 7 to hydor....several have stuck on....luckily no one was killed or cooked.

lol like the above posters stated.. glass heaters are notorious for cracking when you water level drops (like doing a wc, and forgetting to unplug the heater!). ive had one shatter on me about 14 years ago.. learned that lesson quickly when i heard the loud "POP!"

My Aquaclear 50 just got yanked from my 38 gal because it has temp spiked. I checked the temp and it was like 86 degrees in my tank!!! I moved it to my 125 I just water changed (the temp is pretty low, so I will give it a bit to get the temp up and take it out). What the hell?! I guess its time for a new heater!

Hydor Theo heaters are terrible! I bought a couple for a new tank from Pet Solutions when their Ebo Jagers were out of stock. Both of them ran 5-7 degrees too hot.

Holy crap you aren't lying, those are the absolute worst!!!!!!!


Its the cheapest one at Petco, its a complete POS. If my tank is full to the brim it barely meets the suggested water line.
