the only thing about the stelth that i am not sure about is the fact that they are all black how do u know they are on/off unless your temp drops or raises considerably??? or is there a way to tell if they are on

i would almost like to put a stealth in my new 125 b/c its getting blk sand, background, going to be my show tank and i would like to see just fish and not heaters lol
and i have not done a sump yet so i can't throw a heater in a sump b/c i'm a totall noob to them and half afaid lol
I stopped trusting all heaters long term. Now I buy Catalina titanium heating tubes and replace them once a year or so. Does not matter how much money you spend....they all suck eventually. They also come in small wattages.
My smallest tank is 200 gallon so makes my life tough with 250 watt pieces of crap.
so far the aquatic gardens heaters have worked well for me.. i have them in 2 of my tanks... one is still cycling but the other has been going for over a year.. as long as you dont run them dry they seam to do pretty good.. the preset guide thing on them is crap but once you find the right spot ive never had to adjust it
Old thread but 2weeks ago a Hydor Theo 400wt killed every fish in my 75g. Was set @ 78f, stuck on(digital temp 93f) and $1k in fish in my planted tank were dead after a wonderful 3yrs.
Maybe bad luck after 16yrs in the hobby but who cares. Stay away from those damn heaters.
