Worst tank accident?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Woke up at 4 one morning to a noisy filter and 30 gallons of water on my floor. Learned to always keep your air pump above your water line!

On my heavily planted 55 gallon my roommate who decided to change my filters for some reason, knocked over one of my co2 generators and the whole liter of yeast water pumped into the tank before I noticed it. The yeast got so thick that the plants that were touching the front glass I could barely see. 8 - 1/2 tank water changes (with 3 gravel cleanings), 2 diatom filter charges, 2 magnum 350 micron filters later it is finally back to normal. Luckily I only lost 2 of my loaches.

my silver aro broke her heater, so i went out to get a new one. the only problem with that was i should have checked out that this thing was set at crazy max temperature.dropped the heater, in few hours later basically cooked her. sad story to this was i just bought a 200gal tank ready to move her. i had her for 5 years and i knew she was a girl becuase she developed eggs.

i once tripped halfway through a water change in my 125reef and kocked over a full 5g bucket onto the wood floor of my room. my friend was also once doing a water change and he siphons out the window and while its emptying out the window the hose had curved into the dining room window one floor below and was spraying filthy water a lll over.

play COD while filling my tank and forgetting about it until i heard water hitting the floor :S

Was moving my eco pump 1297 still plugged in so I could squeeze a bag of carbon in the sump. we'll goes to say I pulled the hose off my pump and water shot everywhere. Dove over killed the powerstrip. Then realized the sump was gonna overflow jumped back over attached the hose and flicked the switch back on. No disaster but alotta cleanup

Left a full large can of tetra min on top of the tank. Went on vacation, came back, dang cat had jumped on top of the tank; 15g, and knocked the entire food canister in. Couldn't see anything in the tank. Did a few quick wc's and things were better. Tank sprung out in ick and lost a few fish, nothing important.
