any hikari floating pellet ummm tetramin is garbage brine shrimp.... imo the only food to feed fish is spirulina algea live foods of various nature and the best balanced diet i have found is the spektrum brand only because of the hormone free quality and freshness you can feal in the food itself all the foods that promote vibrant color is a lot of hype... feed ur fish krill and shrimp for color... keep good water ur fish will show color... ur lights...

Interesting, one of the only things my Red Devil will eat aside from live foods are Tetra Cichlid Sticks. He ignores almost everything else. Fortunately he gets plenty of guppies, minnows and ghost shrimp in his diet as well. I figure between the meat in the live foods and the vegetable matter in the cichlid sticks he's get a pretty ballanced diet.

pellets. none of my fish eat them, but will eat anything meaty

I have the same problem with my jack dempsey and my RD. All the other cichlids eat them. I haven't been able to find the hikari sinking pellets all we have around here is the floating...do they make the bio gold in sinking pellets too? The worst food imo is any kind of tetra min, my fish wont touch it...they have high class lol. Some of them will touch certain Sera products but I dont use that brand anymore as I have found better in Omega, Hikari, and NLS.

Edit: I alternate what I feed my fish too. I look at the protein, fiber, so on to see what has the most for my fish. I feed lots of protein i.e. beefheart bloodworms brine shrimp, and fiber so they can pass the food better. Fish intestine work like ours you put a lot of protein in it and you can't use the bathroom just like fish, but throw a salad with a lot of fiber in there too and its much easier to pass not to mention much better for you. I'll do beefheart, bloodworms, spirulina brine shrimp morning, and brine shrimp, misis shrimp, and krill at night along with bio gold at morning and night. For my bottom dwellers I use Hikari carnivore wafers, and algae wafers. In my community I feed NLS sinking pellets, bloodworms, shrimp, and krill.

i think most fish will eat just about any brand of food although their might be exceptions.about the only food i use is hikari, omega one,osi and spectrum.i did buy a small can of aqueon and they do eat these flakes.

the other brands i have kinda left them alone:( allwet...

why omega to fry??? fat content... i refuse brine because they mostly get sucked into my filters i dont more than breeding pairs idk i just dont prefer brine thats all and ur rught about the krill i seen my africans do funky color phases..ive switched to sa/ca and havent looked back... krill is my gold saums fav treat

I have to say...TetraMin is, IMO, terrible food. They overuse grain products and the ever-ambiguous "fish meal". Fish I've seen on this food either A) Refuse to take it or B) Display poor colouration and behaviour.

I am a huge fan of frozen foods myself...I hardly ever use prepared foods.

when i put freeze dried dyphinia in my tank nothing ever ate it so thats my choice . also i think frozen bloodworm is the best food for fish

Haven't found much my fish won't eat except the picky fellows

Only food i can think of that my fish didn't really care for is freeze dried Krill they love frozen krill however

Tetra mini granules. No one was enthuasistic.lol
