thanks nic, ill write that down as reference. isnt a sump the one with the big canister and all the hoses and whatnot? i think i am going to stick with the motoro's for this tank, and a few retics. i thought a leopoldi or a p14 would be cool to have, but they are quite pricey, and ive seen some nice color differences and variation on motoro's. so im looking at 4 motoro's and 2 retics, and i think im going to cut it down to 1 silver arowana, for ease of feeding the rays, and ease of stress on them, plus id rather have only one to take care of than have a problem then have to do something with three, like quarantine etc. plus ill have a jardini in another tank to start with, so ill have a good amount of them, just having two, and with one only, it may reach a larger size.....
so i have two more questions for you nic.
rays first then arowana? (threat of arowana being eaten by a ray)(i dont think the arowana would eat a ray....)
and
arowana like to have some sort of light on at night, if i got a small strip light at one very end of the tank to keep the arowana calm at night, will this pose as a stress problem to the rays in a 10 foot tank? im not thinking it would but rather safe than sorry. i would think theyd just sleep on the other side of the tank, since itd be small i think it would be a low watt bulb.
