lmao! you've taken crim classes so you know exactly what will happen when a gunman is on the loose  not trying to argue either, just different opinions. i wish you the best of luck and hope youre never in a situation like this

Its about psychology and problems with society, not what "crazies" will go on the next rampage. I'm a sheep for not carrying a gun? You're a sheep for paying taxes for a failed justice system.

VT as an example? Or any other rampage incident...you pull your gun out as the gunman is rampaging YOU are the immediate target and how do you know he isn't a better marksman?

Is it "kids" with guns on the street or young adult criminals? Some times many gun grabbers refer to young gang bang punks as "kids" to strike that emotional reaction in people when in reality they arent like 7 or 8 year olds getting into the closet. Believe it or not those cases are VERY VERY rare.

Kids referring to 12 and 13 year olds all the way on up. Daily shootings...
The kid getting a hold of the parents gun is a different story...

A better marksmen? We arent going to be shooting off a bench and punching holes in paper so that doesnt matter!!

Its called a little training and common sense. In a situation like that its very likely a perp will have tunnel vision moving from victim to victim. Unless you were the first target and being caught off guard, the chances are over whelmingly in your favor that you will be able to draw your weapon and fire with out the shooter noticing you.

I am no internet commando that will sit here and say I'm a hot shot, but with any of my weapons I can comfortably dump a mag center of mass at 15yds and that is all that it takes.

taxes? dont you pay taxes? or are you just another leech sucking on government aid? and now youre just spewing out irrational comments. so youre telling me i shouldnt try to defend myself against a killer because he might be a better marksmen? sounds like a plan. ill just get on my knees and go out like a coward

You are being wayyy to theoretical...how do you know that when the suspect hears gunshots hes not gonna flip and the situation escalates?
Again, excuse my stance but the idea of some civilians wanting to save the day irks me. Things could go from awful to downright tragic...

youre misunderstanding. it really isnt about saving the day. its about saving ME and my friends/family if theyre with me. i could give a piss what happens to everybody else

How would a mass shooting get worse?

Again, excuse my stance but the idea of some civilians wanting to save the day irks me. Things could go from awful to downright tragic...
Give me an example of an armed civilian making a shooting spree situation worse? The only thing I can think of is the guy that tried to prevent the shootings in the TX court house a couple of years ago. Its didnt get worse but he lost his life. However, he did force the bad guy to run allowing the police to finish the job the good summaritan started.

In the majority of cases, especially things like armed robbery, the bad guys flee at just the site of an armed victim. So that is a good thing.

The only way a shooter would hear gunshots is if I missed. Ive been taught that if you pull a weapon it means deadly force will be applied. Deadly force doesnt mean to shoot in the air and try to scare the bad guy or shoot him in the leg to injure him like in the movies, it means just that, deadly force. If the weapon Im carrying holds 15 rounds, I suppose 15 rounds will be in deceased bad guy. :( Of course that brings about another issued of the use of excessive force but that is a WHOLE different story!

My life would be absolutely devasted if I was forced to do such a thing. It would take years to recover I think. However, my daughters life would be worse if it was me and not the bad guy. And that is all that matters to me.
