the laws are there just not bieng used by most to own and carry firearms.

I think the laws vary from county to county, and town to town, but I'm pretty sure that in order to transport a rifle or shotgun in most areas (at least inside city limits) of FL, it needs to be in a box or case.

In FL, if you're gonna carry a weapon, the law wants it to be concealed. At least in most instances.

that is a common misconception. which can lead your self to trouble. all areas are open to there regulations. cook county ill. is a no handgun county but i understand long guns are legal. it is illegal to carry a concealed weapon w/o a permit. it is legal to carry a legal firearm w/o permit as long as it is in plain view. and you are ready and willing to answer who you are and if it was legally obtained.

In my state its illegal for any local (county/city/town) govt to enforce their own weapon laws. If the state says its legal the local govt has to abide by that.

Check opencarry.org for state laws regarding open carry.

The only speeding ticket I ever got was at 1AM in the middle of the sticks. Im talking WAY country Kentucky.

I was heading to a friends Bed and Breakfast on Dale Hallow lake when I got pulled over. In my car I had a 1.75 of Jim Bean, about 6 fishing poles and tackle, an AKM-47, AKM-74, and two thousand rounds of ammo. To make it worse I left my ID at home because when I purchased the ammo earlier in the day I had to take it out of my wallet. When the good ole boy officer walked up to my car and peaked in (everything was in plain site) his only remarks where "Looks like yall are havin' some fun this weekend!"

After I told him why I didnt have my ID he laughed and just asked for my social and insurance information. Afte a few minutes he came back, gave me my ticket (I thought he wouldnt at first) and directions (I was lost), then told us to have fun!!

Can you imagine if that happened in a state like mASSachusettes?

or to a minority like me?!?!?!?!?!

I'm not exactly white. Ive got a little Japanese blood running through my veins. Its an odd mix with the redneck blood that is for sure!

The more I think about it the more I loved that little place. This place was so country that people had marijuana growing in their front yard. At the local convienent store, along with a loaf of bread and a can of beans you could get your beer, liquor, a quart of shine, and even other stuff with the right words. Of course the county was dry too!

EVERY person you drove passed waved and smiled as if they knew you with out fail. No trash or litter either...too bad the only means of living down there is pretty much the drug trade so that is why hardly any of the laws are enforced. :(

I carry a pistol 6 days a week open and or conceled don't matter much to me or the law in V.A. u can do either here. I am my own boss so i make the rules on weapons in the workplace so if u ain't packin u are fired haha.

Well what about them? They know i got a gun are we going outside for a quick draw at noon? The whole point of regular folks having guns on their hip is to keep the few crazy's from going on the rampage. Ask yourself this why do mass shootings happen at gun free zones like schools, churches, goverment buildings etc...I have never heard of a killing spree at the gun range, n.r.a. meeting, nascar, etc..
