I would if i could. Granted i live in Commiefornia where its impossible to get a CCW, but i would carry. Too many crazies out there. Even in the workplace itself. How many times have we seen rampages at work?

I might wear slacks and ties everyday, but i still have my trusty little CRKT blade. never leave home without it. Our main building has access by keycard only, but im at a seperate building which is open to the general public. Anybody could walk in.

So yeah, if i had a CCW i would carry EVERYWHERE. even where youre not allowed to have one. havent you noticed that stuff always pops off in the places where you least expect it?[/QUOTE]

But how could that be? I thought if a place had signs up saying "gun free zone" it is safe as no one is allowed to bring their guns?!

I wear a shirt and tie with dress pants. I was thinking of packing with a P3AT as they are tiny and in a pocket holster, would never print. The down side is a slow draw but I figure if Im sitting in a cube, I will notice any trouble before it gets to me giving me time to draw. While walking I could just have my hands in my pocket (I would anyway because of the cold!). The other debateable drawback is knock down power and capacity.

My company also forbids the storage of firearms in employee vehicles on company policy which is AGAINST the state law for any employer to do that.

Why dont you try to fight the company policy so that you dont jeopardize your job?

:iagree: just keep it quiet until you use it defend the lives of your coworkers if need be. what can they possibly say then?

Sketchy. Depends on the company, and how you approach it. However, if the company is already saying you can't (which is illegal), then you probably would be putting your job in jeopardy.

Which is ok, since it is a great show. Haven't you ever wanted to be on jeopardy?

Are you Union? If so you can probably contact your Union lawyer....

I sort of agree with Gr8 here. If it is against policy, I would not do it, but there are some other factors here, which you have pointed out. The fact that they don't allow firearms in your vehicle, when you say that is illegal by state laws, and also if they have had issues with assaults in the past. I would use these two points to have a discussion with the "powers that be" and go in strong that you want to carry at work, then "compromise" on them letting you keep it in your car.

Well t obe honest, if the poo hit the fan, Id use my weapon only as a means to get back home with my family, not to save the day.

haha yeah thats for sure! but i guess i meant that while trying to save your own butt, you could also argue that you saved the butts of coworkers. which could be a very valid argument...
