Your life comes before your job. I used to work security and thats how my mentality was. No job or amount of pay is worth your life. As long as you conceal it and are slick enough not to be caught then go for it.

If you dont wanna carry a gun, then some pepper spray or even a knife.

Seems llike your only other option might be to form some sort of walkers commuter group, where employees walk together in groups to and from designated meeting spots.

Why not post something up by the water cooler? If you feel this unsafe, Im sure others are feeling this too....

Personally I see no reason. I have spent time walking around after dark in a lot of big cities (New Orleans, L.A., Mexico City, to name a few) but I have still never felt the need to arm myself. Be smart and stay alert and you'll have little to worry about.

Besides, the only gun I own is an old bolt-action 20 guage shotgun and it's pretty hard to conceal...

I'm curious, how many of you conceal carry daily but have a job with the same policy?

I carry concealed every where I legally can so it wouldn't be something new. I have never dropped or lost my weapon. In other words I wouldnt be a noob trying to conceal in a sketchy place, I'm pretty confident I could be discreet.

I dont buy into the whole "It's safe out there MOST of the time so I don't need to carry." argument. Though I am a firm believer that people are inheirently good and the world is over all safe place, I just would rather not take the chance when something as simple as taking a few firearms classes and holstering up every morning could save your life.

hide it in the bushes outside your building, then pick it up when you leave ;)

How many of you have pulled out a knife or gun in self defense? And do you know anyone who has (shot or stabbed someone in defense and gotten away with it)?

I don't think anyone is bragging about it, nor saying that they do. I believe it is more in case the moment arises.

Personally, if someone is attacking me, and I stab/shoot them, I am not worried if I "get away with it". I would just be thankful I am alive.
